Dr. Groza was on staff with the Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS) between 2007 and 2014, where she enjoyed performing a full spectrum of general dentistry procedures as part of a dedicated group of providers committed to delivering the best possible care to our Spokane population, including low income and uninsured patients. At the same time she pursued extensive continuing education, including hundreds of hours and numerous certifications in implant, laser and sleep apnea dentistry.

In late 2014, driven by both personal experience and an increasing fascination with the emerging field of oral- systemic medicine, she decided to leave CHAS in order to build a private practice focused exclusively on dental sleep medicine. Dr Groza has taken numerous basic and advanced courses in dental sleep medicine, including the MATRx certification for in-lab remote titration of oral appliances. She has earned the AADSM Qualified Dentist status and in May 2018 she passed the comprehensive Board Certification Examination administered by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, one of the final steps toward achieving ABDSM Diplomate status - the highest type of credentialing in Dental Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Groza was awarded the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship in June 2015. She is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. She is also the founder and coordinator of the Spokane Regional Sleep Apnea Network, a cross-disciplinary coalition of physicians, dentists and other healthcare providers aiming to develop more efficient pathways for the screening, diagnosis and treatment of adults and children with sleep-disordered breathing. She has authored several articles on this topic and is looking forward to collaborating with other research or support organizations on innovative approaches to the co-management of these major chronic conditions.

In her spare time Dr.Groza enjoys volunteering for her children's schools, where she has coached math and science clubs; skiing, biking and hiking with her husband and best friend Peter; and constantly re-learning from her children how to slow down and look at the world with a sense of wonder.

Dr. Liana Groza completed both her undergraduate and her Doctor of Dental Surgery training at the University of Toronto (Canada), where she graduated with honors in 1995 and was inducted in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. While in dental school she earned numerous awards including the Barry H. Korzen Endodontics Award, C.D.S.A. Scholarship for Medicine/Oral Medicine, Royal College of Dental Surgeons Scholarship, Canada Science Scholarship, James & Connie Dickson Math and Physical Sciences Scholarship and was named Ontario and University of Toronto Faculty Scholar. After an internship at the Toronto Hospital she joined a busy Toronto practice (Dr. Jack Fingrut, DDS MAGD) where she worked full time for two years, until moving to the US with her husband. Here she practiced general dentistry as an associate for 6 years in South Carolina (with Dr. Sam Hazel, DMD) then two years in Georgia (with Dr. Howard Booth, DMD MAGD), following her husband’s own career path and search for an ideal place to call home. In 2006, with two small children, they finally discovered Spokane – where the combination of biking, skiing and sailing opportunities, great schools and architectural gems proved to be the perfect answer to their quest.

Linda graduated from Spokane Community College with AA Degrees in Medical Secretary/Word Processing/Administrative Secretary. After working for several years as an insurance agent, she returned to a medical career as an Administrative Assistant at a Genetics Clinic. This position offered Linda the opportunity to work with a group of people that gave her latitude to create a work space which evolved over time and included everything from scheduling to gathering insurance information and submitting authorizations to making travel arrangements for out of town providers. Since 2012 Linda has worked as a medical Financial Counselor - a position that awards her the chance to speak with many insurance providers on a daily basis and "fight the good fight” for the patient, as she likes to call it. Most of all, Linda likes to interact with people. Always one to make a person laugh, you can almost always count on a smile from Linda. On her off time, Linda can be found in her garden, in her “spin” class, or enjoying travel books. She has two grown children, but will always think of them fondly as her 8 and 10-year-olds.
